Synchronizing Your Supplier Networks

Transform your fragmented supply chain into a “Thinking Network”

 

 

This artcle and accompaning video illustrate how to achieve real-time control over the multiple tiers of your supply-chain, by instantly propagating data and process signals across supplier networks. This video illustrating a supply-chain example, but this approach also applies to chains of service providers (like healthcare), or chains of participants on complex projects (like construction).

 

Every business depends on its network of suppliers/providers/partners. The first tier of suppliers can number in the thousands. These are the suppliers we order from directly. And our 1st tier suppliers have their own suppliers on which they depend, to fill our orders. These 2nd tier suppliers can number in the hundreds of thousands. And 2nd tier suppliers depend upon their suppliers. These 3rd-tier suppliers can also affect the health of our supply chain. Beyond the 1st tier we have no visibility or control. 

 

The problem is compounded because each organization uses different apps, databases and documents. And each has their own internal processes to manage their business. Hence the originating company has no control or visibility of supply-chain health across its multi-tiered, fragmented supplier network on which it depends for its very existence.

 

Jenyta solves these problems by linking processes and synchronizing information so each organization is always in synch with the latest information and processes they need. Synchronizing Information & Processes

When changes occur, in either information or processes, Jenyta immediately informs everyone who’s affected. For example, the originating company issues an engineering change order (ECO) that changes a component on a sub-assembly they source from a supplier. Or the ECO issues changes to a process that affects one or more suppliers. When information or process changes are published, Jenyta automatically propagates the changes to only the effected suppliers across each tier of the supply chain.

Changes can also occur way out on the leaf of a supplier network that effects many other organizations.  When this happens, Jenyta automatically propagates these changes to the effected organizations.  Changes in any part of the network are automatically communicated to all other participants affected by the change. In this way, the entire supply-chain becomes a thinking network that constantly adjusts to changing conditions.

 

Thinking Networks

This “Thinking Network” is accomplished by linking processes and synchronizing information across organizations. The “Thinking Network” can include participants from other departments, suppliers, service providers, resellers and customers.

A change in a process at one organization can trigger a process or alert at another organization.

Similarly, a change of information can automatically be privately shared with other organizations.

This capability cascades across each tier of a supply chain, service chain or project chain.  This linking of data and processes allows each organization to use their own processes and system, while still participating in a network of organizations.
